Summer 2011 Update

-This summer the Brothers of Kappa Sigma have been working hard to ensure that we will have a great Fall Semester.
-8 Brothers will be participating with the Fraternity Move In Program that helps incoming First Years as they arrive on campus for the first time!
-We are looking forward to a great group of Brothers living in the house this year, 17 in total, with 4 Doubles.
-The Delta Phi Chapter will be sending two delegates to Las Vegas in late July for the Kappa Sigma Grand Conclave.
-Brother Alden Millar and Brother Sam Kraemer will be representing Hobart College and our Chapter along with Brothers from all over the Country
-We are already looking forward to Rush Week, which is September 12th-20th this year
-Also on the Calendar is Homecoming and Family Weekend, which is October 21st-23rd
-Last Homecoming Weekend the Brothers won the School Spirit Contest, with the winnings we were able to buy our 55’’ TV that is currently in our Living Room!
-This semester we will be starting to reach out to as many Hobart College Kappa Sigma Alumni as possible!
-With the introduction of this new Website, Twitter Account, Facebook Page, we are sure to reconnect many long lost Brothers.
Highlights from Last Semester:
-A visit from Dan Rosensweig ’83, who is the CEO of Chegg (The Textbook Rental Company) His visit was very educational and he provided much insight for all the Brothers
-Brother Isaias Garcia ’12 applied for a PR Summer Internship with Chegg after Mr. Rosensweig visited the Chapter House, after a long application period he was chosen for the Internship and has been on the West Coast all summer, a very valuable learning experience.
-Kappa Sigma won the Hobart and William Smith Colleges “Citizenship Award” for Outstanding Contribution to Campus & Community in Overall Citizenship. This award was won in contribution from all the Brothers but spearheaded by Brother Dan Sills ’11 and Brother Raphael Durand ’13.
-Brother A.J. VanHeyst ’11 won “Greek Man of the Year” for the second year in a row! An invaluable asset to the Delta Phi Chapter and we will miss him.
